Bravolebrities: The Reality Tv Personas I’m Obsessed With
Hopefully I am not the only gal addicted to Bravo…. I have been wanting to do this post for some time now, so glad it’s finally here! The thing I hate about most portrayals of women on reality TV is general caddy-ness and the constant need to prove themselves amongst one another and essentially to their viewers. As much as I look forward to the reunion shows on every real housewives series, I can’t help but think, why are we always fighting about who is right, who is prettier

Ways To Be More Present
When was the last time you were 100% present? For me, I have to be completely present in my profession as a therapist. I have to pay attention, as most of us still do in our respective professional lives, as parents, as friends, as partners and for the love of God as drivers too. However, in my personal life it’s incredibly difficult! It’s become customary for my friends and I to have our phones out on the dinner table, to make phone calls while driving, to want to capture ev

The "M" List: March
Spring cleaning ( and donating ). The cliché is real. The time has come to attack that closet, I am sure we all have, full of some useful and mostly useless stuff that has complied in secret and ignored for far too long! It’s quite a scene when I, with caution , open that door and close it as swiftly as possible! It’s got luggage, lamp shades, computer paper, files, pillows, clothes, cleaning supplies and bins that have been long overdue for reorganization and purging of thi

The "M" List: February
So I had intended this “M” list to reflect on things to do/look forward to in January 2016, however, resolutions don’t happen overnight, right? Here’s what I’m hoping to accomplish this month, let’s see how it goes! { via my instagram & planner via ban.do } 1. Send my Valentine’s ON TIME! In fact, let’s make that AHEAD of time . In this world of instagram, insta-text, insta-email, insta everything so quickly and so swiftly, the magic of the message is getting lost! That’s

Winter Wonderland
As much as I love the year round sunshine in Los Angeles, nothing is as pretty as the first white snowfall! Growing up in Chicago I took these snowy winters for granted, always enjoying the first sled ride and then praying for summer to come early. It’s nice to come back and be amazed by how bright and pretty the snow can be; well at least until my flight back to La la land! Here are some snaps from my play time with our toy poodle Caillou, isn’t he just darling? Enjoy! Missi

The M List
1. Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Well it’s the “Fall season” in Los Angeles, despite the 100+ degree days, and even though I can’t quite indulge in sweater weather just yet, I am super excited for one last bit of summer with my favorite event, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic ! It’s everything you’d expect a polo to be with all the well groomed horses, a sprawling green field, preppy day wear, picnics on the lawn, umbrellas and wide brimmed hats, dashing polo players and more

Book Club: Summer Reads Still Worth Reading
I realize the title “Crazy Rich Asians” is bold at best, controversial at worst? But I promise, it delivers. Not only does the novel have an intriguing story line, it’s filled with the hilarious realness of the newly rich Chinese as compared to, the only slightly less extreme old monied families, who all together have developed a nuanced social society in Singapore. The most striking element of the book was probably the similarities to American culture. As an American millen

Joan Rivers: Quotes + After Thoughts
I, like most people I think, always had mixed feelings about Joan Rivers. Of course I was an avid watcher of Fashion Police , not because of Joan, but because it was the only show of its kind. One devoted solely to celebrity style and high end fashion labels. My knowledge of Joan is limited to her role in that, however, I must say, the woman did speak some truth. Unfiltered, politically incorrect, harsh and sometimes down-right mean truth. Most comedians bank on this attribut

Book Club: Box Girl
Sometimes I dream about the days before Facebook and G-chat, before Instagram and iPhones. Before iPads and iEverything. Back when Apple was still an apple, The Cloud was just a cloud, and Siri was just the misspelled name of Tom Cruise’s daughter. Back before Twitter and Tumblr, and before phone conversations were so taboo. Before texting and not talking & abbreviating everything. Back when OMG and WTF were just someone’s initials. Back when Thursday was not #tbt, and we did

Stylish Housewives
My guilty pleasure has been revealed; I am obsessed with the housewives franchise (and Bravo in general)! Whatever city, whatever drama, whatever dull story-line, I mean putting a gossip magazine in a travel bag, really? That’s like an essential travel item … All the housewives bring something great, bu t, I do favor some over others, all for different reasons, and these four gals just have great taste! Here are my style sets for Heather Dubrow, Adriana De Moura, Lisa Vande

....And we're back!
And I AM BACK! Back to blogging that is. This is certainly not the first hiatus, and perhaps not the last. Coming back to the blogosphere (is that even a word?) was a big decision, but I did it for one simple reason; I love it. And while it was so time consuming before, I have realized it helps me re-focus, release negative energy and execute my creativity. Documenting and sharing my journey through early adulthood is something I’d like to have forever. I hope to do this via

The Tween Of My Existence
{image via hipsters are boring} While researching for the COVERGIRL series, I came across this old Vanity Fair cover and became overwhelmed by the nostalgia of my tween years…For most girls, and certainly myself included, those years meant lots of change, self-discovery, and uncertainty/hope about becoming a teenager and eventually a woman… Cheesy, but quite true, these girls were my idols….I grew up loving the Olsen twins, their was something so special about them and almos

Break List
I have officially finished my first quarter of graduate school! I am excited to celebrate in some way soon, but right now I am much more excited about a little winter respite…throughout finals I compiled a list of things I would like to do with the free time, here goes… First on my list, is to sip some champagne from the bottle that has been sitting in my refrigerator for the past month, starring back at me, reminding me that break was soon! No need for a flute, I have plenty
