St. Tropez Inspired Crudites And Rose
Our rooftop space was completed just time for the sun to finally make it’s way back to Los Angeles like a toxic ex-boyfriend and alas we had our first opportunity to entertain just in time for the 4th of July holiday. I’ll admit I’m not feeling so patriotic lately given the state of our country but I’ll never ignore a chance to gather, or take it for granted after the pandemic, most certainly when the stars align for some al fresco summer fun. When designing this space my mo

Crudites On Ice
As the devoted wife of a “vegan” (we use the term loosely given how extra delicious items tend to make the cut) I had to mourn the loss of my cheese and charcuterie taking center stage on my boards. Aesthetics are important and of course one of my favorite places in Los Angeles, Hotel Bel-Air, has mastered the art of presentation along with the demand of health conscious eaters with this beautiful display I am now attempting to recreate! Spooky Cheese Plate
Here’s a quick and simple, spooky cheese board for the weekend! Candy apples, Carmel corn, a skeleton and a mini copper mug of honeycomb all pair well with cheese and sweets. Some of my favorites being white chocolate, figs and candied nuts. I added olive tapenade to top the goat cheese and stuck an acorn in between the fruit and white cheddar, unfortunately the brie didn’t make the plate but it was still heavily consumed. Enjoy! Mid-Midsummer Birthday Celebrations
Well it’s the end of summer and just the start of celebrations for myself and family. August is jam packed with fun each year as it’s my 33rd birthday, 3rd wedding anniversary and 11th year living in Los Angeles. My whole life everything seems to start and end come the month of August, the height of summer and therefore quite a time for moi! So how does one celebrate their birthday with girlfriends, beyond the traditional birthday lunch? This year’s celebration with the ladie

Parker's First Fete
Well it’s been one whole year since mister Parker made his debut and what an adventure it’s been! As all new parents can attest that one year milestone is a BIG ONE and most certainly one worth celebrating. And so we did! I wanted something small and invtiing, loads of snacks and centered around Parker. And what a nice little afternoon to do just that with my one year old bébé! And now my one year old self, Monica the mama version! T o make it cozy I laid some blankets down

A Christmas Cheese Plate
It’s party time! For most of us, myself not exactly included as I am continuing to celebrate with caution, keeping a safe distance from too many people at once. But whether a party of one, two or 300, bring on the cheese pleaseeeee! Keep in mind any and all cheese plates can be made mini and just as cute, like I did here for my small, outdoor baby shower. Feel free to add more oranges and pomegranates too for larger spreads, they make lovely color additions to break up all

Lobster Roll-ing With Friends
Summer is here, and I’m so lucky I had the chance to enjoy a preview prior to baby this past April, thanks to the lovely Southern California weather. My best friend from high school, who is entirely responsible for my move to Los Angeles following college, decided on a very much welcomed whim to visit me from Chicago before I gave birth. I was so overwhelmed with the idea of a friend visiting, something that clearly hasn’t happened in quite some time. And since Emma lived her

Spring Cheese Platea
Spring is upon us and things are changing; the flowers are blooming, the world is opening back up and my pregnant belly is growing bigger and bigger. Times are a changing as they say, but one thing will forever be the same. Alas, my love for cheese plates will always hold tried and true! This post is coming a tad late, beyond the Passover and Easter holidays that inspired this particular selection of goodies, and in fact this was my contribution to my family’s Passover dinner

A Fall And Rosh Hashanah Cheese Board
For many of us September marks the starting of something new; another year of school, a precursor to a long sequence of holidays, a new season of weather and landscape. And for those of the Jewish faith, the high holidays starting with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, followed by Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. The start of the new year in September has always made a lot of sense to me personally, as I’d celebrate my birthday in August, going into the next month beyond e

An Everything But Tea Party
In the days pre-COVID birthdays were essentially limitless. Every August I would celebrate in a myriad of ways ranging from cute lunches with my girlfriends, to summery white parties and an occasional a trip somewhere special. Whatever the setting, whatever the theme it essentially came down to the people I was lucky enough to spend my special day with, something I appreciate now more than ever. This year of course would have to look a little different, I had plans to do an o

Holidazaed: Chic Christmas Cheese Plate
It’s been a while… Since my last cheese plate, which is crazy given it’s the one and only culinary contribution I feel confident about feeding other people! But given the recent circumstances such as my wedding detox this summer and the simple fact that I haven’t had a kitchen since August, let alone a finished space to host friends, perhaps it’s not that surprising. So as you’d expect I was quite excited to create something festive and yummy as my contribution for a holiday

Chic Eats: Cheese, Crudités And Charcuterie Board
I recently hosted Book Club… for the very first time since I first joined this amazing group of women about 5 or 6 years ago. The group was started by a fabulous woman ten years ago, Jenny, who has created such a wonderful space for us all to share our accomplishments, goals and struggles in the most safe and reliably empowering way. I don’t always attend regularly but the monthly get together has always left me feeling apart of something so impressive; a bunch of women who

Chic Eats: An Autumn Cheese Plate
There’s a cheese plate for every season… And this is mine for this fall! My new obsession this time? Figs! As you might remember from my fall cocktail post , figs have been the most perfect accent to any autumn dish or drink. Obviously I am not the first one to figure this out but I am glad I finally got with it. And for a cheese plate it’s a wonderful addition due to it’s natural sweetness. I have always seen lots of fig based spreads in the cheese section of the market and

How To Host A Bachelorette Viewing Party
Will you accept this frosé? Ahhh the bachelor/bachelorette… I have many thoughts and internal conflicts about this lovely piece of television, however, considering my eternal love and loyalty of any reality show on Bravo, I will set those feelings aside because let’s face it, there’s rosé to be had – not to mention pizza and treats. So when a new friend and blogger, Brooke invited me to host a bachelorette viewing party, I was all in within five seconds. Here are all the dee
