The Après Edit
This year I spent Valentine's Day with Arthur and Parker in Mammoth and had the best time skiing in the California sunshine, après-ing each afternoon in the hot tub and staying cozy in the village. My full recs for Mammoth are soon to come in a city guide but before then I wanted to share fit links and more importantly some details about what I love wearing for ski vacations. Here are some of the things I've come to love each season, enjoy! xx My Favorite Ski Fits I feel most

Salon Salon Nola
A place so nice, I had to go twice. The was hands down my favorite spot in New Orleans. It felt moody and maximalist, a bit of Paris and NYC meets the south. The space was beyond colorful, bold and warm, which is what I love. They had an easy menu of elevated snacks and craft cocktails, the staff were extremely welcoming and the space was a perfect size for a cozy lounge; not just a hotel bar which can often feel cramped and oversold. What she really wants for Valentine's Day...
She wants a brand new episode of RHOBH, Hillstone on a silver platter, and 45 minutes of no human contact until she’s fully defrosted... Just kidding! Here's what she really wants from you, from a therapist's perspective. TIME TO DECOMPRESS Life can be super busy and overwhelming, for better or worse. Regardless we are all more apt for romance, connection and goodtime when we truly feel restored. Sometimes the gift of time to recollect ourselves is priceless; whether it’s a l

My Southern Belle Moment
When I think of southern glamour it's all about the drama to me. So anything draped, caped, shawled, embellished, shiny, colorful was what I was looking for. Fortunately I found this vintage Vera Wang gown with a matching shawl in one of my favorite colors, a jewel tone I knew would pair well with a well preserved fireplace backdrop. Aside from removing the spaghetti straps the dress needed absolutely no alterations which was astounding to me since I change quite literally ev

The Celestine, New Orleans
Yes. We stayed in the French Quarter. And loved it. A good friend's wedding brought both Arthur and I to New Orleans for the very first time I couldn't have been more excited; planning this trip (and all trips) is always half the fun. Whenever I'm looking for somewhere to stay I ask myself two questions; 1. How close is it to all the places I've pinned on my saved google map (which, yes, I do for every city I travel)? 2. Will it instantly transport me to the place I'm in? Ne

Dear New Orleans
Not to be dramatic but I think this might be my favorite city in the US. Which is something I've never really thought about, but if asked I would have most likely said New York or Miami for all the reasons you'd expect. But given my good friend was getting married in her hometown I become very excited at the prospect of visiting now my third southern city. Which I will admit I was already turned onto for a number of reasons before my visit; the jazz, the architecture, the int

My Birthday Soirée
This year I wanted to truly celebrate my birthday surrounded by friends and flowers! Flowers, flowers, flowers. Did I mention pink hues, my Italian lamps and candlelight, too? Since moving into Citrus Court I’ve dreamed of a dimly lit, bougainvillea backed dinner party al fresco in the cozy courtyard that inspired me to name our new home. A relatively simple tablescape, with good lighting and well appointed bouquets to match, fresh from the flower market that morning. See my

Things I bought from Italy
No. 1 // This set of Murano glass table lamps I purchased without the cord so I can use them on tablescapes and will use battery powered light bulbs. I love the vintage look and I want them in every color!! No. 2 // ”a place of wonder” straw bag from the mini shop at Passalacqua this one isn’t available on Sense of Lake unfortunately but a lot of other wonderful shop items are that have been created just for the gift shops at both Passalacqua and their sister property

Tips for Taking Kids to Restaurants
My son is likely the exception to the rule, he has a generally engaged and calm demeanor and there’s only one of him! We taking our son to restaurants from a young age, mostly for my own benefit! But we have had success and to preface this conversation, these tips are from my own experience, including this last supper on our trip to Italy in the most beautiful of places in Verona! This is not intended as parenting advice, just things that have helped us along the way. Whateve

A Love Letter to Verona
Dear Verona, At last, we meet again, this time with a husband and kid! When you last saw me I was 20, fashion-obsessed and ready to save the world and spoke Italia more fluently. Now at 35 I call Los Angeles home, am in private practice and still spend all my money on clothes and traveling. Because of you I took a chance and moved many miles away from home after college and have established Los Angeles as my adult home. Because of you I cherish traveling and have faced many f

Sunset Boat Charter, Lake Como
Golden hour focaccia pizzas and Prosecco in my colorful new coupes, on a boat, feeling like an Italian movie star… A highlight of our trip to say the least. An evening boat ride is a must on Lake Como. I can’t tell you how much fun we all had with our local snacks and sips, enjoying a very comfortable ride along the lake seeing villas, colorful towns and glittering waves! Glamour on the Lake at Passalacqua, Lake Como
The promise of magic, is how I got Parker to wear the cute little Italian loafers I earnestly purchased for him, praying he would consider swapping out his Nike’s for one extra elevated evening on the lake… And fortunately the magic worked. Parker totally bought in with the heavy handed clue ChatGBT and I carefully constructed and instantly put on the loafers as we pulled into the narrow, almost hidden driveway at Passalacqua. Our Stay in Varenna, Lake Como, Italy
I’ll be honest, the lake life has never quite done it for me. Yes, of course lakes are stunning, especially with soaring mountain ranges behind them quite like many of the lakeside retreats not far from Los Angeles in Tahoe, Mammoth and even Big Bear. However, Lake Como I must add is quite incomparable to those locales, even it’s neighboring Lago di Garda, a place I spent much time at when I lived in nearby Verona. Lake Como or Lago di Como as the Italians say, is absolutely
