Clutch Savy
Back to blogging! On trend now are box clutches! I love how structured and chic these small purses look with evening wear, I have one from three years ago I purchased for only $9 and still love to this day, definitely a trend-worthy investment! {french connection} The shape is easy, focus on the fabric, pattern, and texture; enjoy! {1} {2} {3} {house of harlow} {1} {2} {3} {4} Animal prints like crocodile and snakeskin are always relevant for handbags; I am only a f

Designer Spotlight: Just Cavalli
So many shows, only so many posts! Roberto Cavalli really knocked out any possible fall drab, with this amazingly bright, textured and strong Fall 2012 Ready to Wear line…. This look (above) sounds ludicrous and perhaps cheap on paper; a bright, chunky, orange sweater, with cropped red patent leather pants and hints of animal print under fur…but leave it to eccentric european designer Cavalli to make this chic in real life…that and the gorgeous runway model… I am totally down

Designer Spotlight: Jill Sander
The 2012 fall collections are here and although we are still in another season, some of the looks from Jill Sander’s ready to wear show are highly compatible with the femininity of spring… So romantic and pretty these dresses, jumpsuits, and coats are reminiscent of the 50’s and all the glamour that era bring to women’s wear…this neutral, color-block, jumpsuit (above) is modern, sweet, and simple and my favorite of the line… An emphasis on the waist is what makes these look

Fashion In Film: The Tourist
The Tourist is one of my favorite films, not just because it takes place in my country of choice, Italy, but also because the costume design was absolutely stunning, refreshing, and made the thriller absolutely irresistible! {the tourist} Of course lead Angelina Jolie has that quality in every film, she is undoubtably soft, sophisticated, and glamorous in this wonderfully feminine look… {the tourist} My favorite aspect is this awesome shall, designed exclusively by costume d

Honored Style: Sophisticated Prints
Beautiful prints are pivotal to Spring fashion! Here are some street style examples I love… Adding a fun blouse with a leather skirt, shorts, or pants amps it up notch (above), the thin stripy sandals are great too! Metallic footwear is quite flattering… {image credit} {image credit} A white blouse looks great with anything (above), but even better with a pretty print, the easiest and safest way to go! {image credit} A credit to wearing color with a pattern (above), this purp

Street Chic: Sweat In Style
Call me crazy, but I appreciate incorporating fashion into every outlet of life, including exercise…good style requires looking effortless, and what should look more effortless then what you wear to the gym? {lauren conrad} {nicole richie} A few weeks ago I finally acted on my new years resolution and joined a local gym in Brentwood and therefore have been adding more leggings, hoodies, and tissue tees to my wardrobe; here is some noteworthy gym style from some in shape an

Designer Spotlight: Matthew Williamson
It may not yet be Spring, however, in fashion, it is time to look towards Fall… Browsing through the 2012 Pre-Fall designer collections I found much inspiration, one of my favorites this coming season is Matthew Williamson….with highly saturated colors, bold prints, and an overall look I like to call “fun sophistication,” Williamson’s line is relatable to me and my work style…each piece in this collection is equally as beautiful as one another, yet cohesive worn together…here

Dream Estate: Cottage Charm
Today I am featuring the eclectic interior of a more then charming Vermont cottage I found on House Beautiful …this is a perfect example of everything I love about classic architecture intertwined with eclectic/modern decor… The living room (pictured above) is fresh, inviting and luxe, a great juxtapose to the cozy vibe coming from the rest of the house…and I love the varying shades and textures of white; the linen couch, the cream leather chair, the patent leather, twin ott

Bridal Romance
This year was graced with many bridal affairs to remember, but three in particular caught my eye….Kate Moss had an intimate, free-spirited, English wedding in the countryside, her dress was made specially for her by designer John Galliano, how absolutely lovely… Also in the countryside, one on another continent, a charming fairytale best described as a western romance deserving of a spot in a Ralph Lauren catalog campaign…beautiful bride Lauren Bush wed her handsome and well

Boundaries
Perhaps…after being in a dark room for two hours, mesmerized by the devastating beauty of Melancholia, eloquently described as “a beautiful film about the end of the world,” the line between real and surreal was too skewed for me to shake without a heightened sense of awareness, this was a film that moved me, in a wonderful and yet enchantingly distressful way…. “What a beautiful mess.. this is,”-Jason Mraz M. Lacquer Love
